Japanese media reporters asked three questions. First, regarding the case of Japanese citizens in Dalian who have been subjected to compulsory measures, what is the current progress of the case? Have the parties been formally arrested? Second, besides this case, are there any other enforcement cases involving Japanese companies or Japanese citizens? Third, some of China's recent actions may have given the impression that it does not pay enough attention to Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations. In this situation, is China willing to further promote Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations?
Regarding this issue, Guo Jiakun responded: "As for the first question, the case is currently being handled in accordance with the law."
Regarding the second issue, Guo Jiaqian stated that Chinese authorities will investigate and deal with illegal and criminal cases according to the law. The Japanese side should educate and remind Japanese citizens and businesses in China to abide by Chinese laws and regulations.
Regarding your remarks about the Sino-Japanese trade relations, I suggest you pose your questions to relevant departments in China. Guo Jia Kun pointed out that we have also noticed the Chinese government's repeated statements on this matter. We believe your understanding is inaccurate.
Guo Jiaqun further emphasized that China has repeatedly pointed out that the current serious difficulties in Sino-Japanese relations stem from a series of wrong actions by the Japanese ruling authorities in areas related to China’s Taiwan and military security. The responsibility lies entirely with Japan. "We also want you to ask the Japanese policymakers whether they can respect China’s core interests and stop interfering in China’s internal affairs; whether they can abide by the four political documents between China and Japan, maintaining the political foundation of Sino-Japanese relations and the necessary environment for economic and trade cooperation; and whether they can reflect on their mistakes and show sincerity in taking practical actions to restore Sino-Japanese relations to a proper path."
